Intro to newspaper design

The Oregonian , its my favorite because the picture explains much more than what the headline does.
Portland, Oregon USA
"Boston is still Strong" is my favorite headline because even though this big event happened a year ago people are still remembering this day to the people that got injured or past away and for support of their families.
Their is 2 stories in front of my favorite.
Newspapers have the month, the day , & the year , flag , the logo , & the picture with the main story is big .
Some newspapers don't have advertisements at the bottom of the page , their teasers are located in different places .

Year Review Part 2

I choosed this picture for drake started from the bottom because i think this was a really famous song for 2013 since it always played on the radio and they made parody's out of it . What attracted me to this choice was the name and the way other singers started singing it but in other languages.
This is my main choice for a movie 2013 because it was really funny and it was a really good movie for  children and what attracted me was the characters and their actions .
This was the main choice for news story of the year of 2013 because it was a major tragic event that happened in Boston . What attracted me was the people that were injured and all the reactions to what happened .
Most important person of 2013 was paul walker . He was such a great actor for movies and i really enjoyed all the movies he was in . His actions in the movies were the thing that attracted me .
Biggest sport entertainment was when kevin ware broke his leg during a live game on TV  . What attracted me was the reaction of his other team members and it was the best of 2013 because people actually saw the jump and the way he landed braking his leg.

Holiday Hopes
My holidays were pretty good . Family from Mexico came and visit and we made food for christmas and new years and we had a lot of fun then two days after new years we got together again and made more food and talked . Christmas with my uncle was fun we all enjoyed the family time.

My New year Resolutions were to be good and focus only on school thats my first priority.
Im looking forward to a new year and start it off good , be a good person and enjoy everything in life .

Year Review 2013 Part 1

One of my favorite Photos of the year was this one because it shows a view from the top and you can see the island in form of the heart . This pictures has some kind of simplicity to the blue-ish navy color of the water and it looks kind of dark.
Second favorite picture would be this disaster because it briefly explains an even that happened during the year and some people were injured and some died. This has the rule of thirds and the background looks smokey and blurry and all you see is people running around .
Third Picture would be this one because you can't imagine a big-O bear trying to balance on a string . The rule this picture is using would be balance and background . The background is light .
